    Workshops focused on how to build, maintain, and sustain community gardens in your neighborhood, business, school, or place of worship.
    Educational booths to teach you basic skills such as composting and building rain barrels.
    Optional garden tours across Wake County following the event!

    In this interactive workshop, attendees will learn how to start a school walking program and discussing a variety of topics from Wake County resources for walking programs, funding ideas and creative ways to incorporate physical activity in the school environment. The session will finish withQ & A from parents experienced in implementing successful walking programs.

    Raleigh’s 4th Annual Less Fork, More 5K Race & Fun Run, April 11th…..a family friendly event supporting healthy families and promoting healthy lifestyles!

    Join us on Sunday, April 11th for the 4th Annual Less Fork, More Foot 5K Race and Fun Run on the Meredith College campus. Proceeds will benefit the Raleigh District Dietetic Association and the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education's efforts to prevent childhood obesity through education.   • Kids Together Family Fun and Fitness Walk- Cary

    Saturday, April 17th, Registration- 9:30, walk 10:00- 12:00

    We're combining fun, fundraising, families and fitness! Modeled after grown-up racing events, the KT Family Fun and Fitness Walk spans the 1.4 mile (round-trip) segment of the Hinshaw greenway, starting at KTP and connecting with MacDonald Woods Park via the pedestrian bridge over US1& 64. Stations along the way provide a break, along with fun info and take-home surprises. Awards, refreshments and entertainment await participants when they end the course, returning to Kids Together Park. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. Decorate your wheels or wear a funny hat and you might just win a prize!

    $15 per family; $5 per individual. Bring your friends! Presented by Kids Together and the Town of Cary.

    The youth working on the GIS have created a Google Map with healthy food options in Fuquay-Varina.  They will be working with these stores to make suggestions for healthy changes.
